This is how i describe the Airbnb market now.
OYO Rooms is exactly one of the big crocodile in Airbnb.
For example, the one i am staying tonight is under the management of OYO rooms.
This is a 435 sqft studio unit and it is only RM88/night included taxes!
Again, it is only RM 88 /night !!!
Honestly, how do budget hotels or even a 3 stars hotel survive under this competition?
8 years ago, i was renting out my studio unit at RM 350/night around the city area !
Now, with the price of RM88/night , i doubt that it is profiting but to cover part of the loan instalment instead …
I don’t handle any small Airbnb unit anymore for now and very specific in selecting my Airbnb unit with certain criteria…
If Airbnb is the only investment option for you to cover all sorts of loan and fees , think twice !
